Meet Will

A Fighter. A True Floridian. Your Voice for a better St Johns County.

Born and raised in Florida, Will McMullan believes in lower taxes, responsible growth, and government that works for the people, not the other way round.

It's time for leadership that protects our quality of life and delivers real results for the people of the county, not big out of state developers or foreign corporations.

A Bold Vision for a Better St Johns County

Bringing Real Transparency and Accountability to our County

I believe public servants should serve the people who elected them, not special interests, or corporations. I believe government works best when those in charge know somebody is watching and will hold them to account. We need full transparency and accountability, not back room deals that sell out our county and hurt its residents. I plan to build a publicly available, free to access, searchable online database that shows how every single dollar is spent.

Jobs and Economic Development

Do you know anyone whose children or grandchildren have had to leave the county after graduating from high school or college because they couldn't find a job here? That's a real problem. We need to strengthen our local pipeline from education to training to employment, ensuring that people who grow up here can also build their careers here. At the same time, we should be attracting and supporting businesses that want to move here, expand, and hire local talent.

Reforming our Tax Code

Affordability is the number one concern for too many people in this county, and while our representatives in Tallahassee have talked a good game, they’ve not done anything yet. I firmly believe that nobody should have to choose between being able to live and paying their property taxes. We need tax reform now: let’s freeze tax rates at the level they are when someone homesteads their home. I also want to eliminate property taxes for those over 65.

Making St Johns County Beautiful Again

They may have paved some of paradise and put up a parking lot, but it’s not too late to save our county from seemingly never-ending development. We must stop letting developers throw up cheap, soulless cubes while clearcutting thousands of acres across our beautiful county. If we are to have growth and development, we need architecture that reflects the culture and natural beauty of our surroundings. Our quality of life must be preserved. Let’s prioritize and protect what makes St Johns County a great place to live, not the pocketbooks and balance sheets of big developers.

About Will

Will McMullan is a lifelong Floridian and proud St Johns County resident who is running for County Commissioner District 2, committed to bringing a new generation of leadership focused on transparency, accountability, and practical solutions in local government.

Born and raised in Florida, Will has lived in St Johns County since he was two years old. He graduated from Bishop Kenny High School before pursuing his higher education abroad. He moved to Scotland and attended the University of St Andrews, where he met his wife, Christine. While at St Andrews, Will  earned a Master's degree in Business Management and Environmental Science, followed by a second master's degree in International Finance.

After graduating, Will went to work in Manhattan in investment banking and finance, until learning that his mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. This news caused him to immediately move back to St Johns county to help take care of her, a decision that reinforced his connection to the St Johns community. He is happy to announce that after almost two decades she remains cancer free!  Since then, Will has worked in multiple industries and today works in Consumer Packaged Goods, helping major manufacturers manage sales, distribution, supply chain, and retail operations with major chains.

Will’s campaign is focused on a simple idea: St Johns County should remain a place where families can afford to live, work, and thrive without sacrificing the natural beauty, history, and character that make the community special.

Rather than framing the future as a choice between growth and preservation, Will believes the county can achieve both through smarter planning and stronger leadership. He supports responsible economic development that creates high quality local jobs, strengthens infrastructure, diversifies the tax base, and reduces the burden on homeowners, while also protecting neighborhoods, green space, and the county’s unique identity.

Will has also spoken openly about the need to move beyond the divisive political climate that has increasingly defined local government. In public interviews and campaign appearances, he has called for a more solutions-focused approach centered on residents rather than political infighting or special interests. He believes local government works best when it is transparent, accountable, and driven by long-term planning instead of short-term political battles.

His vision for St Johns County includes attracting advanced manufacturing and aerospace industries, supporting workforce development, improving transportation infrastructure, and ensuring future growth benefits the people who already call the county home.

Will believes St Johns County has unlimited potential, and he is committed to fighting for a future that protects the community’s quality of life while creating new opportunities for the next generation.
